Stray Hearts Animal Shelter in Taos, New Mexico is looking for a full time veterinarian to provide care for the dogs and cats housed in our facility. We have lots of plans and we are looking for an individual with ideas and passion and to also influence the construction of our new facility.
Stray Hearts Animal Shelter is the only animal shelter in the county, providing temporary shelter for lost and homeless pets. We are a Fear Free Shelter with a 95% live release rate. Stray Hearts is actively involved in our community by offering a pet food bank, vaccine clinics and even boarding for pets of people whose lives are in crisis. We have a great team of dedicated staff and volunteers who work together every day to not only save lives, but to enrich the lives of the pets in our care. We are looking for someone like you. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DMV or VMD) required.
Eligible to be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of New Mexico.
Current DEA license for controlled substances.
Ability to work hours necessary for the successful operation of Stray Hearts and the animals in its care.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
This candidate must also possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be a client-oriented individual who can work well with the public and the veterinary team providing excellent medicine.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
